 Your guide, holding an orange Athens Walking Tours sign, will be waiting for you in front of the little chapel located in the center of Monastiraki Square right across the exit of Monastiraki Metro Station. Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to given departure time.

Skip-the-Line Access

Entrance tickets are not included in the tour fee. We, however, offer free skip-the-line service by which we purchase the tickets in advance in order to save you time and avoid lining up at the cashier of each archeological site you visit. This service is provided at no extra charge. Note that children and youths under 25 years old are entitled to reduced or free admission at the archaeological sites, depending on age and nationality (a valid ID or passport is required for verification).


The tour starts at the lively area of Monastiraki square, in the heart of Athens where you will discover iconic landmarks, the Flea Market, lots of souvenir shops, and traditional tavernas all under the majestic eye of the Acropolis.

Plaka & Anafiotika: The Neighborhood of the Gods

Enter the most unique part of the city and discover with your knowledgeable local tour leader, its tranquil, picturesque and mystic hidden corners. Anafiotika is located on a hill above Plaka district; for a while, forget the city sounds and get the feeling that you are walking through the alleys of a Cycladic island however, with a history of over 3.000 years! Stroll around the little alleys and admire the white washed cubic houses with bright painted shutters and beautifully carved wooden doors, a typical Cycladic architecture!

After the first part of the tour, you will be introduced to your guide for the Acropolis part of the tour and you’ll have a chance to get a snack or a drink before the second part of the tour begins.


Entering on the south slope of the Acropolis, you’ll visit the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you walk up the slope leading to the Acropolis monuments. Panoramic views of the city will be perfect for Instagram-ready photos.

During your tour, you’ll gain insight into the significance of the historic monuments of Acropolis, including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Nike Temple as well as other significant sights of Athens including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory of Athens and the city’s scenic hills: Filoppapos, Mars, and Pnyx.

The tour ends on top of the Acropolis.
